What inspires you to do what you do?
Amber:  From the moment i got involved with music, I realized that it wasn't something I could put aside.  I find that if i go even longer than a few days without playing or writing lyrics i become a tad irritable, lol.  There was a time in my life when i was working over 80 hours a week. Many people close to me had passed away and I started to feel that I was wasting the gift of life, if I wasn't doing what i love in life, which is music.  I  really can't see myself doing anything else.  Its an expressive outlet that i just cant go without.

How do you feel about the music scene in Vegas?
Amber:  I think this town has many talented musicians.  However, it's easy to get caught up with doing 'cover' music for casinos and corporate events and make decent money.  So a lot of artists get involved with that and lose sight of there original music endeavors. Honestly though, most people believe Vegas is only for cover music… but its quickly changing. The original underground music and arts movement here is finally starting to flourish.  There's more and more places to play and venue owners are very supportive of original music. I feel as a band we are very fortunate to be a part of a community that encourages artists to follow there passions and dreams.

Is your family from a musical background?
Amber:  As for me… and most of the band, not really. The only member of the band that's family is musical is our bassist, Roman.  He comes from a long history line of musicians and was brought into music at a very early age. When I was a kid, my mom did play the piano a bit, but most of my family was involved with the Television and movie business.  I always loved music,  but I grew up taking dance and thought for sure Id grow up to be a famous tap dancer.

How did you get involved in music?
Amber: I started writing poetry at the age of eight but had never thought of getting involved with music… other than a listener.  However, when i left Hawaii and moved to Las Vegas i had just started playing guitar and one of my friends asked, "why don't you take those boxes of poetry and turn them into songs?".  Never in a million years could I have imagined that i would be writing music and performing in a band.  I mean heck, It took a while to even know the difference between what a chorus and a verse was, but now i'm writing well constructed songs, with what I feel have deep meaning.

Who are your musical inspirations and what was the inspiration behind your new album?
Amber:  I love so many different styles of music.   I guess some of my favorites would be: Zeppelin, Bowie, PJ Harvey, Mazzy Star, Blondie, Fugazi, Eno, Pretenders or Cat Power.  I think diversity really rounds out your sound as a band. Our guitarist likes goth music, our drummer likes Alternative or classic rock and our bass player studied Jazz.  When I was a kid it wasn't surprising to find me lying on my bedroom floor, writing poetry and listening to music.  You could always find me with a pen and paper…writing. Even back when I was about 7 years old, I was enjoying music, and mostly because the lyrical aspect of it was so inspirational to me. My favorite thing to experience was to buy an album, open it, and read all the lyrics inside while singing along.  These days things have changed with everything being released mostly digital... Which is one of the reasons we were determined to deliver to the public, a hard copy album, with liner notes included.

Tell me about the new album and album name?
Amber:  The album title 'Turner' links back to my grandfather Leslie Goodwins, who was a film director from the U.K.  As for the music, personally, I like that every song on the album delivers a different vibe.  I've never been a fan of style restrictions because i think it takes away from creativity, plus i think it shows how a band grows into its own style over time.  On this album 'Turner' one song might sound very Indie, while another almost Reggae and another Punk Rock.  Although, I have recently realized that our sound is starting to round out and change a bit. Which I know will be great for our next  E.P.

Where was it recorded who produced it and what type of process did you guys use?
Amber: We recorded the album entirely here in Las Vegas...at The Tone Factory and SnakeJam Studios. Originally my idea was to record at several different studios, 2 or 3 songs at each, to get the opportunity to work with different engineers and to explore different feels for the songs. However, Certain studios didn't stand up to the quality and professionalism we were after, and that turned out to be a mess.  So we ended up re-recording some. Which was better for us in the long run but that pushed the album's release date later then we expected.  My friend Vinnie Castaldo, (from The Tone Factory) and I had recorded together a few years back and we enjoyed working together.  We decided to record just with Vinnie, and a few songs at SnakeJam Studios with Roman. You don't always need to rush to what seems to be the next best thing…Sometimes your just better off sticking with what you know works for you.

What are your immediate music career goals and what's in store for the future?
Amber: I feel its super important to continuously write, perform and record new music. We already have been working on several new songs and a new music video. Ideally at least one new album a year, would be realistic.  We also might be bringing a keyboard player into the group.  As well as doing some small tour runs and playing out of Vegas more frequently.  Hopefully in the future we have the opportunity to go on tour as the Support band for a larger touring act .  But in the meantime, we will just keep the momentum positive…moving forward… and keep enjoying what we do, in every moment that we have.
